Is it possible to put the best of IDS 11.50 inside an ERP? Yes, of course.

Sometimes it's difficult to convince the customers to migrate to a new version of
DBMS, like IDS 11.50. If they aren’t a DBA or technical people they can’t understand
the plus inside the new products.The things change if we can put these new
features inside applications like an ERP. This presentation will show you how we
made this with IDS 11.50.  We studied the new features of IDS 11.50 choosing
the more interesting ones. We choose the new feature of HDR that allows to write
on the secondary server. It would be useful to permit to the customer to decide
where running the single program (primary or secondary) depending on the
characteristics of the program (read only, with a few or many instructions of writes).
Another interesting feature is the “SQL history tracing”.If the server’s performance
becomes poor, the customer can see the last instructions executed, filtered by
execution time. This is what was implemented inside the ERP, making
it very simple to use for all of our customers.

Explanation of Mach 11

1.  A discussion of the concepts of a MACH11 Continuous Availability Fabric (CAF).
This will cover the different types of replication covered under the model and
discusseshow manual failover would take place.

2.  A live demo of the creation of a MACH11 CAF.

3.  A discussion of how IDS 11.5 completes the CAF picture with
a connection manager and updatable secondaries.
This could be the subject of a separate session, if you wish,
or a very high level summary at the end of the show.
